SAINTE MARIE

An Island of Splendor and Whales, Sainte Marie, or Nosy Boraha, is a lush paradise on the Eastern side of Madagascar, known for its white sandy beaches, swaying coconut trees, and crystal-clear waters, and is one of the country’s finest beach destinations. In addition to the island’s natural beauty, it also has a unique Pirate history dating back to the 17th century with evidence of old pirate graves and legends that continue to attract interest. Easily the best part about Sainte Marie is that it is the foremost Whale watching location in Madagascar. Humpback Whales migrate to the area, and then bear and nurse their young, making for memorable sights and an incredible experience with nature.
