MAROJEJY

A World Heritage Rainforest for Genuine Adventurers and situated in the Northeastern part of Madagascar, Marojejy is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to some of the most beautiful tropical rainforest in the country-it is a dream destination for ecologists, keen walkers, and campers. The Park has a series of trails that range from simple promenades through luxuriant lowland rainforests to more challenging pathways that take you into high-altitude cloud forests and jagged peaks, with fantastic views of many ecosystems. Marojejy is home to 11 species of Lemurs including the critically endangered Silky Sifaka, one of the rarest primates on the planet. Marojejy is also a birdwatchers’ paradise and provides sanctuary for many species of endemic Birds. As for Herpetofauna, Marojejy has the greatest diversity of Reptiles of any reserved areas in Madagascar and includes 17 types of Chameleons, 6 species of leaf-tailed Geckos, and 27 kinds of Snakes – truly one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.
