Andringitra Mountain

Madagascar’s High Altitude Jewel, Andringitra is a hikers’ dream come true, located is Madagascar’s second highest peak, and no matter where you wander the landscapes will spoil you with views. The mountain itself resembles a huge granite organ, with fluorescent facings of granitic grooves representing the largest known system of granitic grooves in the country. As you progress through the immense and lonely ecosystem, the silence is broken only by the Honourable and very echoing calls of the male Ring-tailed Lemurs defending their own territory, bringing a sense of mystery to the undertaking. Botanists will marvel at the strange high-altitude rocky vegetation, worthy of equal mystery and awe with a resilience to match that of the landscape.
