Located in the North and Northwest of Madagascar, this trip offers a unique opportunity to explore diverse ecosystems—from lush rainforests and dry deciduous forests to beautiful beaches and vibrant diving spots. Like other regions of the country, Diana region is rich in biodiversity, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cultural heritage.
Fly from Antananarivo to Diego Suarez. Upon arrival, drive to Joffreville, located near Montagne d’Ambre. Before dinner, take a short walk around the lodge to spot local nocturnal wildlife such as the Montagne d’Ambre Mouse Lemur, Giant Leaf-Tailed Gecko, and various frog species.
After breakfast, enjoy a short drive to Montagne d’Ambre National Park. Explore the lush forest home to unique wildlife like Stump-toed Frogs, Montagne d’Ambre leaf Chameleons, Mossy leaf-tailed Geckos, Lemurs, the Montagne d’Ambre Ring-tailed Mongoose, endemic Birds, and diverse orchids. Picnic lunch in the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for the northern part of Madagascar. Arrive at the spectacular Tsingy Rouge, a red marl formation sculpted by rain into stunning cones 1 to 2 meters high. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to Andrafiamena. Check in at the Black Lemur Camp lodge. In the evening, take a short walk to spot nocturnal Lemurs and sleeping Chameleons.
Morning forest walk to encounter the rare and localized Black Sifaka Lemurs and explore the unique dry tsingy forest vegetation. After lunch at the lodge, drive to Ankarana.
Breakfast followed by a visit to Ankarana National Park. Trek through dry deciduous forest with Baobabs, and marvel at the razor-sharp limestone formations resembling a petrified forest. Cross a hanging bridge over a deep canyon, with chances to see lemurs along the way. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, drive to Ankify port, stopping en route at a cocoa and vanilla plantation. Board a boat for a one-hour ride to Nosy Be. Arrive at Hellville port and transfer to the lodge. Lunch and afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, boat to Nosy Komba (45 minutes). Hike through the local reserve and handicraft avenue to meet Black Lemurs and see wildlife like Boas and Tortoises. Continue to Nosy Tanikely Marine Park for snorkelling. Picnic lunch. Return by boat to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, boat to Nosy Sakatia (20 minutes). Take a short hike to visit local villagers and observe daily island life. Enjoy snorkelling and lunch at a local restaurant. Return by boat to Nosy Be in the afternoon.
NB : Depending on the season, Day 7 and 8 could be spent for whale shark or whale watching.
