INTRODUCTION

Located in the southern highland of Madagascar, Andringitra National Park, home to the country’s second highest mountain, offers an unforgettable adventure for trekking enthusiasts and nature lovers. The park’s rugged landscapes provide thrilling trekking opportunities, while its rich wildlife adds to the excitement. Following Andringitra, the stunning Isalo National Park captivates visitors with its spectacular sandstone formations and diverse fauna, making this journey a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and breathtaking scenery.

Day 1 : Antananarivo – Antsirabe

After breakfast, drive southward to Antsirabe. The landscape features typical Merina countryside with mixed rice paddies and vegetable crops. Spot wildlife such as Stonechat, Hamerkops, Egrets, and Kingfishers along the way.
Stop at Ambatolampy to visit an aluminum handicraft workshop.
Check in and have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, explore various local workshops.

Day 2 : Antsirabe- Ambositra – Ranomafana

After breakfast, continue driving South. Observe the typical mid-altitude Tapia forest on the western slope of the central highland. At Ambositra, visit woodcarving and marquetry workshops before lunch.
Proceed to Ranomafana National Park. Check in and have dinner at the lodge.

Day 3 : Ranomafana National Park

After breakfast, take a short drive to Ranomafana National Park for a morning forest walk to spot local wildlife, including several Lemur species and many endemic Birds.
Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Ranomafana arboretum to see native trees and the giant Parson’s Chameleons.
In the early evening, enjoy a short walk along the road to observe Mouse Lemurs, Frogs, and Chameleons.

Day 4 : Ranomafana – Ambalavao

After breakfast, drive South to Ambalavao, passing beautiful terraced rice paddies and grapevine plantations. Check in and have lunch.
In the afternoon, visit local workshops specializing in handmade paper and wild silk.

Day 5 : Ambalavao – Ambalamanandray – Andriampotsy

After breakfast, depart for Andringitra National Park. Leave the sealed road for a more adventurous drive to Ambalamanandray village, one of the park’s gateways. Meet your local guide and porters and start trekking.
Enjoy a picnic lunch en route, then continue to the Andriampotsy plateau where the camp will be set up. Admire the impressive scenery. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 6 : Andriampotsy – Pic Boby -Iantaranomby

Early breakfast, then hike up to Pic Boby, Madagascar’s second highest peak at 2,658 meters. The trail offers fantastic views of Andringitra’s unique granite formation. Picnic lunch at the summit.
Descend to Iantaranomby where the camp is set up by your team. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 7 : Iantaranomby – Tsaranoro valley

After an early breakfast, trek to Tsaranoro Valley. The landscape here differs from previous days but remains stunning.
Check in and have lunch at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 8 : Tsaranoro – Isalo

After breakfast, drive to Ranohira, entering the land of the Bara tribe. The road begins as a dirt track but soon meets the well-maintained National Road. Experience a change in local culture and scenery.

Day 9 : Isalo National Park

Enjoy a beautiful hike in Isalo National Park, famous for its sandstone massif and uniquely adapted vegetation like elephant foot plants.
Lemurs are often seen during picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10 : Isalo – Zombitse – Toliara – Ifaty

Early breakfast, then drive to Zombitse National Park, where Baobabs appear for the first time.
Take an easy forest walk to spot endemic Birds and Lemurs.
Picnic lunch, then continue driving to Toliara and onward to Ifaty.

Day 11,12 : Ifaty

Early morning visit of the spiny forest to see endemic Birds, Reptiles, and diverse Baobab species. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Rest of the day at leisure with optional activities like snorkelling, diving, zebu cart tours, and biking.

Day 13 : Ifaty – Toliara – Anakao

After breakfast, drive back to Toliara, then transfer by boat to Anakao. On the way, stop at Nosy Ve island to observe the Red-tailed Tropic Birds. Picnic lunch during transfer.
Check in at the lodge. Evening walk in the garden to spot Mouse Lemurs.

Day 14 : Anakao – Efoetse - Anakao

Early breakfast then a 1.5-hour drive to Efoetse, gateway to Tsimanampetsotse National Park.
Visit Mitaho Cave to see the endemic blind Fish. Hike the Mahafaly plateau, home to drought-adapted plants and Baobab-like species.
Possible sightings of Ring-tailed Lemurs, radiated tortoises, and endemic Birds. Greater Flamingos can be seen at Tsimanampetsotse Lake.
Lunch at a local restaurant, then drive back to Anakao. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 15 : Anakao- Toliara

Breakfast then transfer to Toliara.
